About Author
Born in Spokane, Washington State on July 7th and grew up near Seattle, in the Puget Sound area.

David is the son of George Wayne and Theone (Berge) Eddings. He attended Everett Junior College, 1950-52. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Reed College in Portland, Oregon, in 1954 and a Master of Arts in 1961 from the University of Washington.

He served in the United States Army (1954-56). Subsequently he worked as a buyer for the Boeing company. He has been a grocery clerk and taught college-level English.

His first novel was a comptemporary adventure story, High Hunt. But he has always been interested in the field of fantasy, and developed the Belgariad series to develop certain technical and philosophical ideas concerning the fantasy genre. After the success of the Belgariad he consolidated his success with two further popular series, The Mallorean and The Elenium.

He lived with his wife Judith Leigh (Schall) Eddings, married on October 27th 1962. Alas, on February 28th 2007, Leigh Eddings died after series of strokes.
