David Gerrold was barely out of his teens when he wrote the teleplay "The Trouble with Tribbles" for the original Star Trek television series. He has written dozens of outstanding novels since then, including When Harlie Was One and The Man Who Folded Himself - both nominated for the Hugo and Nebula Awards - and the popular series The War Against the Chtorr.
In 1995 he adopted a son, Sean, who was the inspiration for the novelette, The Martian Child. It won the Hugo Award, the Nebula Award, and the Locus Readers Poll as Best Novelette.
David and Sean live in San Ferdando, California.
