Jason Del, a shoemaker’s son, learns that he is the heir to the Wizard’s Stone. The stone has been passed down in an unbroken line from father to son since the time when Dels were kings of Trinity. With the Wizard’s Stone also comes the responsibility to defend humanity and the land of Trinity in the Final Contest, a battle between the gods. The time of the Final Contest is at hand, and it falls to Jason to fight the creatures of Pure Evil and Evil Less than Pure.

But Jason must first find the long lost Pearl of Anton which is said to be able to add its own secret power to that of the Wizard's Stone. The responsibility of both comes to Jason by default. The heir was supposed to be Jason’s older brother, Theda, who died mysteriously while the two boys were berry-picking. Strong, brave, and good, Theda was everything Jason is not, and Jason’s guilt over his older brother’s death haunts him as he attempts to master his new and terrifying responsibilities. The mystery of his brothers death may, in fact, destroy Jason!

Accompanied by the village teacher and a mysterious woodsman named IAM, Jason sets off on a journey to reunite the Wizard’s Stone with the Pearl of Anton. Along the way, Jason must learn to control his newfound powers and conquer his fears and feelings of inadequacy.
