Description: The false religion which has ruled the world is crumbling as the miracles provided by the priests' science are proven to be false. The priests offer no redemption from the coming dark age. The witches are stirring up rebellion with their new 'miracles,' led by the Black Man (Dark Man in some later editions, due to Political Correctness concerns).
Brother Jarles is lost amid this impending chaos, and even if the ending is predictable, that makes its messages no less powerful.
