Rediscovery of Man by Cordwainer Smith & Paul Linebarger

Description: -Cordwainer Smith (Paul Linebarger in real life) was a career diplomat and taught at various universities around the world. His book on Psychological
Warfare (produced during the cold war) is *still* considered one of the standards.

However, his main contribution was a series of science fiction stories (as well as two novels) stretching out into the far distant future (about 13,000 AD).
There is much symbolism and multi-lingual 'tricks' in names used (for example
one 'heroic epic' centers around a 'modified' cat known as Cashier O'Neil.
(Cashier is the name of a city in ancient Egypt where a fabulous treasure
was supposedly burried). In many cases, CS delves into the mysteries of
the human heart, the future of man kind, and the nature of 'humanity'.

Notable are the following:

Count two, think blue...
No, No, not Rogov!!
The Old Lady of Clown Town
The Lady who sailed the Soul
The Game of Rat and Dragon
The Ballad of Lost C'mell
Scanners Live in Vain
The Crime and Glory of Commander Suzdal

Norstrilla (complete novel)
On the Sand Planet (novel, a recording is also available!)

These may be obtained on-line via the fab web-site run by his daughter:
