The Wrong Reflection by Gillian Bradshaw

Description: A phenomenally intelligent fellow wakes up after a car accident with amnesia, and even worse, a deep certainty that the face that he sees in the mirror is not his. He has a few gut instincts (such as fear of the corporation he is supposed to have worked for) but suffers intense pain when he tries to remember more. Only math and physics come easily to him; he knows nothing of culture, food or social mores. An interesting assortment of folks befriend him, and become central characters.

Set in modern-day Britain, this book does not reveal itself to be SF until the second half of the book (although there are clues). In US, order from Chivers 800 621-0182.
