Firebird Trilogy by Kathy Tyers

Description: Firebird Angelo is a young princess on a planet with a fateful choice to make:
either die in battle in glorious death or commit suicide because of the traditions of the second child of the noblehouse are called Wastlings and are expendable. When she is sent on a invasion of a peaceful world she is
captured by Brennan Caldwell who she falls in love and learns about his religion which is similar to christanity. Fusion Fire:Firebird must stop fanatical terrorist organization from killing her and Brennan children who
are prophecised to become the messiah.

Crown of Fire-Firebird is crowed as regent of her birth planet and must stop a impending civil war on it and is targeted for assasination by the same terrorist organization. This series combines war, romance, adventure with a
deep spirtual quest. Tyers's world-building skills are great and she is able to juggle her christian beliefs with some harrowing action sequences and machinations of some really evil villians. You don't have to be religious
to be entralled by Firebird and Brennan's adventures. This was one of the most involving space opera I've ever read!
