Description: The Light Bearer is a historical novel written by Donna Gillespie in 1994. It deals with Germania’s occupation by the Romans in the first century after Christ’s birth. In its first part, the novel is divided into two strands, each dealing with the life of its particular protagonist, namely Auriane in Germania and Marcus in Rome; the second part merges the two strands and thus the protagonists’ lives.
