William Emms was born in London. He taught in London's West End. Growing up he was hugely influenced by H.G. Wells. He left a teaching career to write for TV. He watched Doctor Who from the start and he decided to submit a story which was accepted and produced as Galaxy 4. He went on to submit several further stories but none of which were made.
Later he wrote for Z-Cars, Crown Court and several other popular TV series'.
