Tom grew up in the north Georgia mountains, the background for nine of his thirteen contemporary fantasy novels. He holds a BA and MA degrees. His interest in medieval literature, castles, and Celtic art led him to co-found a local chapter for the Society for Creative Anachronism, of which he is still sort-of a member. A "fair-to-middlin" artist, Tom is also a frustrated car nut (he has a non-running '62 Lincoln named Uriel, every Road & Track since 1959 but two, and close to 900 mostly unbuilt model cars). He hunts every now and then, and plays Toil (a southeastern Indian game ancestral to Lacrosse) whenever his pain threshold is especially high.
He's also single, petless (but likes cats, ferrets, and dogs with pointy ears), reads Vertigo comics, is still trying to be a successful teenager - and would like to build a small castle someday. This author has been recommended by 27 other readers. | |
