| Paul Park is a leading author of literary science fiction and fantasy, often compared to such writers as Gene Wolfe and John Crowley. His newest work is the Roumania fantasy series, comprised so far of A Princess of Roumania (2005) and The Tourmaline (2006). He began his career writing science fiction, including the Starbridge Chronicles [Soldiers of Paradise (1987), Sugar Rain (1989), The Cult of Loving Kindness (1991)] and Celestis (1993). He has also published two novels speculating on biblical times, The Gospel of Corax (1996) and Three Marys (2003), the surreal novella No Traveller Returns (2004), and the collection If Lions Could Speak (2002). Celestis was short-listed for the Nebula Award for Best Novel and Park has been nominated for a host of other major awards. A Princess of Roumania is a current nominee for the World Fantasy Award.
