Iain Lawrence was born in Onatario, Canada. The second of four children. He was a journalist, but now he writes full time. He is the author of Ghost Boy and the bestselling High Seas Trilogy, which includes The Wreckers, The Smugglers (nominated for the Edgar Allan Poe award) and the Buccanners. He is also the author of many newspaper and magazine articles.
