Harlan's writing career has spanned over forty years. He has won more awards for his 62 books, 1400+ stories, essays, articles and newspaper columns, two dozen teleplays and a dozen motion pictures than any other living fantasist.
He has won the Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Allan Poe award twice, the Horror Writers of America's Bram Stoker award and the Nebula award three times each, and the Hugo 8 1/2 times, Milford Award for Lifetime Achievement in Editing, Writers' Guild of America award for Most Outstanding Teleplay (four times). Awarded 2011 Eaton Lifetime Achievement Award.
