| Derrick Gaetke was born and raised in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Raised in the church, he always had a love of fantasy, science fiction, and especially superheroes. As a child he attempted to write his own comic books, but his lack of patience at having to draw everything kept him from ever completing a full story. Finally, he buckled down one day and used the written word to bring Moonclaw to life. He hopes that many more Moonclaw tales will emerge from this first novel, and he has already started on a sequel. He graduated form the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in May 2006 with, of all things, a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre.
