Carol Emshwiller is the author of three previous novels, Carmen Dog, Ledoyt, and Leaping Man Hill, as well as four collections of short fiction: Joy in Our Cause, Verging on the Pertinent, The Start of the End of It All, and Report to the Men’s Club. She grew up in Michigan and France. She lives in New York City in the winter, where she teaches at New York University School of Continuing Education.
