Brian Wilson Aldiss wrote his first book, The Brightfount Diaries in 1955, to be followed two years later by his first collection of short stories, Space Time and Nathaniel. Since then he has published over fifty novels.
Known principally as a writer and critic of science fiction, Brian Aldiss has also received wide acclaim for his short stories, travel writing, poetry and contemporary novels. Recently he has been awarded the Prix Utopia at Futuroscope in France, been made Grand Master of Science Fiction by the SFWA and given an honorary Dlitt by the University of Reading.
