Steve lives in Sulby on the Isle of Man with wife, Carole, and two children, Samantha and Michael. He began writing eleven years ago after his wife got fed up about him moaning there were not enough books on the market he liked to read and challenged him to write his own. So he did, and got bitten by the writing bug. That first effort, all 110000 words of it, will never be published but was a useful exercise and helped cement his love of writing.
While trying to sell that first novel he began his second, Reluctant Heroes, and discovered his voice to lie in humour rather than straight fantasy. By the time he finished Reluctant Heroes he realised that ‘Children of the Mist’ was not good enough to be in print and placed it to one side.
