He spent much of his childhood in the Lone Star State and also lived in New Orleans and Williston, North Dakota. He attended Midland High School, Wichita Falls High School, and Carroll High School in Corpus Christi. In 1992 he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University.
Richard enjoys sports-related activities such as basketball, football, and hiking and is a particularly avid golfer. He also enjoys traveling and of course reads anything he can get his hands on. At age eleven he began writing fiction and to date has written over forty short stories and three novels. Rift is his first work accepted for publication.
