Born in Chicago in May of 1961. He entered college as a Chemistry major but eventually realized the error of his ways and turned back to his first love, writing, achieving a Bachelor's Degree in Rhetoric from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. A dirth of true writing jobs available, Richard took on such high-profile occupations as stockroom/warehouse worker, mortgage office clerk, and resume' writer while he put together his first manuscripts and gamed on the side.
Started off writing for TSR's Dragonlance series, but has developed his own Dragonrealm series succesfully, and produced some very good standalone novels.
